Inspired by His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama's poem "The Sheltering Tree Of Interdependence" translated in Tibetan.
The poem is invoking the blessings of Buddha and Avalokitesvara. The poem acknowledges Buddha's profound understanding of interconnectedness between environment, sentient beings, Samsara and Nirvana, which he compassionately teaches to the world. And seeks kindness of Buddha and the wisdom of Avalokitesvara to perceive reality without illusion. He also reflects on ignorance ingrained in humans that contaminates and pollutes the nature and environment, highlighting the collective karma that affects all sentient beings. He encourages and reminds us to recognize and repay our mother's kindness by nurturing the earth, our universal mother, forsaking wastefulness and pollution and engaging in action that benefits all.
