Our journey began in 1998, when we started selling Nepalese and Tibetan handicrafts on eBay from Hannover, Germany. What began as a small connection between Nepal and the international market has grown into a journey spanning more than two decades. Today, NepaCrafts continues that same mission from Nepal — connecting discerning customers around the world with authentic handmade art and craftsmanship from the Himalayas.

A Living Tradition, Crafted by Hand

Nepal is a country where ancient traditions continue to live alongside modern life. In the historic cities and communities of the Kathmandu Valley, generations of artisans continue to practice traditional forms of metalwork, woodcarving, painting, weaving, sculpture, and Buddhist craftsmanship. Many of the techniques used today have been refined over generations. We work closely with local artisans and small workshops who continue these traditions with extraordinary patience and dedication.

There is a simple philosophy behind the products we offer: if we would not choose it for ourselves, we will not offer it to you. Every product goes through our own selection and evaluation process. We look closely at its craftsmanship, materials, appearance, authenticity, functionality, and overall character. We are often our own toughest critics.

In 1998, our journey began with a small online presence in Germany. The internet was very different then — there were no social media platforms, no smartphones, and no global e-commerce ecosystem as we know it today. Yet there were people around the world who were curious about Nepal. They wanted to discover its art. They wanted to learn about its culture. And they wanted to own something made by its artisans.

Those early customers helped us understand something important: distance does not have to separate people from culture. A carefully crafted piece of art can cross oceans and create a connection between an artisan in Nepal and a home somewhere across the world. That idea remains at the heart of NepaCrafts today.
