Vertical Prayer Flags

Vertical Prayer Flags, called Darchog or Darchor in Tibetan, are long, rectangular flags in five colors—blue, white, red, green, and yellow—tied vertically to poles or flagstaffs. Crafted from cotton, polyester, or silk, they are secured with sewn cords along the edges.Traditionally, these flags are placed on mountain passes, rooftops, cairns, or in the ground. Symbolically, they are connected to the Dhwaja, or Victory Flag.
