This is a copper statue that is gold plated and made in Nepal by our Nepalese artist. This is a statue of Hindu Lord Shiva. Also known as Mahadeva, he is one of the principal deities of Hinduism. Shiva is known as "The Destroyer" within the Trimurti, the Hindu trinity that includes Brahma and Vishnu.
The trident, or the spear with three prongs, is one of the accessories of the Lord and depicts his three fundamental powers iccha (will), kriya(action) and gyana(knowledge). The Trishul implies Lord Shiva's power to destroy evil and ignorance.

Here, lord Shiva is sitting in a meditative pose. In the right hand side, Lord Shiva has Trisul with him. He is seated on Tiger skin that symbolize the victory of the divine force over animal instincts. Also, the saints realized that Shiva was not an ordinary sage and they immediately fell on his feet to worship him!

The face of the statue is gold plated.

Size: 6" H x 4.2" B x 3.5" D

Some precautions you should keep in mind when cleaning gold statues.

  • In the case of gold painted on face, do not touch or not to clean with cold water. Gently wipe the dust with soft cotton.
  • Do not use scrubbing cloths that are highly abrasive. Similarly, avoid using steel wool or metal bristled brushes as they will leave scratches on the surface of the Statue.
  • Try avoiding touching gold statues too much. Oil from your hands can hasten the tarnishing process and reduce the life of your gold objects.
