Buddhist Prayer Beads have a very special significance in Buddhism. Although prayer beads malas is used in many religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Christianity, the significance of prayer mala in Buddhism is of high importance.

A mala is a string of beads used to count repetitions in Buddhist practices--prostrations, recitations of mantras, names of the Buddha. Sometimes it is simply a reminder to be aware.
