Compassion in Exile-A Film By Mickey Lemle

Compassion in Exile is an intimate portrait of Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, whose thirty year non violent struggle on behalf of his people earned him the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize. It is also a moving look at the brutal treatment endured by the Tibetan people at the hands of the Communist Chinese, who since 1950 have sought to eradicate the Tibetan's culture and religion. Speaking with unprecedented candor, the Dalai Lama describes his upbringing and key moments in his life, while his countrymen bear witness to their personal ordeals.
