Radhika Basnet

Radhika Basnet is a 38 year old inspirational mother of 2. She has been working in New Sadle for 20 years now and is the supervisor for the Batik Section. Her husband, Bidur Basnet is in Nepalese Army. Her son is in Grade 7 of the Army School and her daughter is a 3 grader at Lovely Angels English Medium School run by New Sadle.

She is a trainer, supervisor and friend to many other women artisans in the batik section. Everyone in this department except Radhika are victims of Leprosy and Polio. It is very inspiriting to see the artists in this department. They have forgotten their past and are learning and earning for their better future. All of them believe in Karma. They have cultivated a habit of self discipline, self respect and most of all self sustainability which is now helping them enjoy their lives.

Radhika is a very friendly person and is very quick to help anyone who is in need. She is admired by everyone in New Sadle for her relentless determination to help each and everyone in need.
